How to get more Google reviews for your garage or car service centre
How garages, service centres and car washes can earn more Google reviews at handover, where to place your review link, and how to stay within Google's rules.

Choosing where to service or repair a car is a trust decision — people worry about being overcharged or having work done they didn't need. That's exactly why your Google rating matters so much: a strong set of honest reviews is what earns a new customer's confidence. Since car work is a bigger, less frequent purchase, every happy customer's review counts.
The best moment: at handover
The natural moment is when you return the car and walk the customer through the work done. They're relieved and satisfied, and it's the point where trust is highest. A quick ask then, with a link right at the service desk, works far better than hoping they'll remember later.
Where to put the review link
- An NFC plate or card at the service desk, where customers collect and pay.
- On the invoice or job card you hand over.
- On the key tag returned with the car.
- In a follow-up message a day after the service.
Follow up by message
You usually take the customer's number when they book, so a short thank-you message a day later — with a one-tap link — is a natural second chance to ask, once they've driven the car and seen the work held up.
Keep suggestions honest
Don't invent the details
uTapiT's wording suggestions stay general — the quality of the work, fair and honest pricing, turnaround, how the staff explained things — and never make up specific repairs, parts or prices.
Stay on the right side of Google
No discount on the next service for a review
Offering money off future work or a freebie in exchange for a review breaks Google's rules, and asking only the customers who seemed happy is review gating. Don't pressure customers to review at handover — offer the link and let them do it in their own time. Ask every customer the same way.
